PROJECT PHASES
Completed Phase
Community Visioning Workshop
The entire community will be invited to this event. At the workshop, participants will help establish priorities for the comprehensive plan. The workshop was held at 6:00 P.M. on 4/14/2011 at the Miller Building.
Research
The team of consultants will conduct research on existing documents and assemble data on such issues as Fayette County's demographic composition, history, infrastructure and utility capacity.
Key Stakeholder Focus Groups
Local representative of the school system, town staff, economic development professionals and others will be invited to discuss Fayette County’s biggest challenges.
Focus Group Summary Report
Initial Recommendations
The team of consultants will create for the steering committee goals and objectives for topics such as the natural environment, land use and development, transportation and infrastructure.
Public Meeting
The initial goals and objectives will be presented at a public meeting. The public meeting was held on 4/14/2011.
Public Meeting Summary Report
Final Draft
The edited comprehensive plan will be submitted to the steering committee for approval.
Presentation to the County Commissioners
The commissioners will review the final comprehensive plan. October 4, 2011
